32 A, 2-pole — the panel fit check
The Siemens 5SJ4232-8HG42 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON 5SJ4 series, rated 32 A at 30 °C. That 32 A holds steady up to 40 °C ambient, then derates to 30.4 A at 50 °C and 28.8 A at 60 °C — so if the panel runs hot, you budget the derate rather than the nameplate.
The IP20 rating (IP40 on the handle) is typical for a DIN-rail enclosure; it needs the panel door to keep washdown out. Vibration resistance at 50 m/s² from 25 to 150 Hz (and 60 m/s² at 35 Hz for 4 seconds) covers the shock and vibe you see on machine-tool panels or conveyors bolted to a steel frame. The sealable design lets the installer lock the handle position after commissioning. DC-rated up to 60 V maximum — so it works on 24 VDC control circuits but not on a 125 VDC battery bank. The neutral conductor is not switched (2-pole, both poles are line/load).
