The Siemens 5SJ6310-7 is a SENTRON 5SJ6 miniature circuit breaker, 3-pole, rated 10 A at 400 V AC with a C-curve tripping characteristic. It is not for high-inrush loads (D-curve) or purely electronic loads (B-curve). For a panel fed from a transformer with a known short-circuit level below 6 kA, this holds; if the available fault current exceeds 6 kA, step up to a higher-rated device or verify the upstream current-limiting fuse coordination. Energy limiting class 3 means the breaker limits let-through energy (I²t) to a low level during a fault, reducing thermal stress on downstream wiring and equipment. This is the standard class for modern MCBs in distribution boards.
Installation depth is 70 mm. Sealable with a lead seal to prevent tampering after commissioning. Touch protection is built into the terminals (fingertip-safe per the standard).
The -40 °C floor matters for unheated enclosures in cold climates; the +75 °C ceiling covers high-temp machine cabinets near ovens or drives. Vibration resistance tested to 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz and 60 m/s² at 10–150 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6 — suitable for installation on machinery or in mobile equipment panels. Mechanical service life is 20 000 switching cycles typical.
Rated for AC and DC operation. On DC circuits the maximum rated voltage is 60 V — verify the system voltage stays within that limit for DC applications.
