What the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 5SJ6332-6RC is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) from the Retail line, rated 32 A with a 6 kA breaking capacity and B characteristic. The B characteristic means the magnetic trip operates at 3 to 5 times rated current — suited for resistive and general-purpose loads where inrush is moderate, like lighting circuits, control transformers, and small motor starters. The 6 kA breaking capacity at 400 V AC is the maximum fault current the device can safely interrupt without welding or arc flash; standard for domestic and light commercial distribution boards where the prospective short-circuit current stays under that threshold. The 3-pole configuration clears all three phases simultaneously, which is expected for three-phase final subcircuits in panelboards.
Panel integration note
Snap-on mounting to a standard 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715. The 3-pole width occupies three modular units (17.5 mm per pole, 52.5 mm total). Wire terminals accept up to 25 mm² copper conductor; strip length 12 mm. The B curve trip characteristic is factory-set and non-adjustable — no dial or thermal compensator to mis-set during commissioning.
