What the ratings mean for fit
The 5SJ6350-6 is a Siemens SENTRON 5SJ6 miniature circuit breaker rated 50 A at 400 V AC with a B tripping characteristic and 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2. The B-curve trips between 3 and 5 times rated current — suited for resistive and lighting loads where inrush is low, not for motor circuits that need a C or D curve. The 6 kA SCCR at 400 V means it safely interrupts faults up to that level without cascading upstream, provided the prospective short-circuit current at the panel doesn't exceed that figure. Three-pole construction covers three-phase circuits; the 70 mm installation depth fits standard DIN-rail enclosures.
Panel integration and wiring
Mounts on DIN rail in any position. Accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 25 mm² — covers most branch-circuit wire sizes up to 4 AWG. The terminals are sealable, which matters for installations requiring tamper-evident sealing after commissioning. IP20 with connected conductors means it's protected against finger contact but not moisture; keep it inside a rated enclosure. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction reduces toxic smoke and silicone outgassing in sensitive environments like clean rooms or food processing.
