It protects branch circuits in residential and light commercial panels against overload and short-circuit faults, with a breaking capacity of 3 kA per IEC 60947-2 at 230/400 V AC, 50/60 Hz. IP20 finger-safe terminals accept incoming and outgoing conductors.
The 2-pole design switches both phase and neutral — common in single-phase split or two-phase circuits. For higher fault levels (e.g., 6 kA or 10 kA), the SENTRON range includes siblings such as the 5SL6220-7 (2-pole, 20 A, 6 kA) or the 5SL4363-7 (3-pole, 63 A, 10 kA). The 5SL1225-7MB shares the same 76 mm depth and 90 mm height as those siblings, so a panel layout designed for a 2-module SENTRON MCB accepts this unit without rewiring.
Installation and environment
Snap-on DIN rail mounting, any orientation. Terminals accept conductors up to 25 mm²; the sealable cover allows lockout/tagout. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction suits environments sensitive to outgassing (e.g., medical or clean-room adjacent panels). Pollution degree 2, overvoltage category III — standard for fixed-installation distribution boards.
