What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL1332-7MB is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a C tripping characteristic, rated 32 A at 230/400 V AC. It breaks fault currents up to 3 kA per IEC 60947-2, which covers the majority of residential and light commercial sub-distribution boards where the prospective short-circuit current stays under that threshold. The C-curve means it trips between 5 and 10 times rated current — standard for general-purpose loads like lighting, socket outlets, and small appliances where inrush isn't extreme.
Panel fit and mounting
Occupies 3 modular width units (54 mm) on a DIN rail. Depth is 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm — standard SENTRON 5SL footprint, so it drops into existing panels without re-drilling gland plates. Mounting position is any; IP20 with conductors connected, suitable for enclosed distribution boards. Sealable design allows lockout-tagout on the toggle.
Environmental and compliance
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction. Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C, with overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 — covers the typical range for indoor panel environments. Power loss per pole is 3.1 W at rated current in hot operating state; factor that into enclosure thermal calculations if the board is densely populated.
