It breaks fault currents up to 4.5 kA per EN 60898 and 5 kA per IEC 60947-2, which covers the majority of residential and light commercial panelboard applications.
The 4.5 kA rating per EN 60898 is the standard for domestic and light commercial final circuits. Both ratings are at 400 V AC. For DC circuits, the maximum rated voltage is 72 V — this is not a general-purpose DC breaker above that level. Energy limitation class 3 means the breaker limits the let-through energy during a fault, reducing thermal stress on downstream wiring.
The 18 mm width (1 MW) is the tightest single-pole footprint — critical when panel space is at a premium. Installation depth is 70 mm, with an overall depth of 76 mm including the front face. The IP20 rating applies with connected conductors; this is a finger-safe enclosure for the panel interior, not for wet or outdoor locations. The breaker is sealable, allowing panel builders to lock the handle position after commissioning.
Auxiliary and supplementary devices
The 5SL3110-6 accepts plug-in auxiliary contacts, shunt trips, and alarm switches. This allows remote status monitoring or emergency tripping without replacing the breaker.
