This Siemens SENTRON 5SL3116-7MB is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker with a C-curve tripping characteristic, rated 16 A at 30 °C and 400 V AC. The 4.5 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 covers residential and light commercial panelboards — enough for branch-circuit fault clearing in a typical 230/400 V distribution. It snaps onto a DIN rail, takes up one modular-width unit (18 mm), and accepts supplementary devices (aux contacts, shunt trips) for remote signaling.
The C-curve trips magnetically between 5× and 10× rated current, so a 16 A breaker clears a short-circuit at roughly 80–160 A instantaneously. That's a good fit for circuits feeding contactors, small motors, or lighting banks where you get a brief inrush without nuisance trips.
Where it fits and how it mounts
Its 18 mm width means it occupies one modular unit, so you can pack 18 poles in a standard 360 mm enclosure row.
