What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL3132-6 is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) rated 32 A with a B-curve tripping characteristic. It breaks fault currents up to 4.5 kA per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, handling residential and infrastructure branch circuits. The 18 mm wide, 90 mm high body snaps onto DIN rail with 70 mm installation depth — fits standard distribution boards. IP20 with connected conductors; touch protection built in.
What the ratings mean for your panel
The B-curve trips between 3 and 5 times rated current — 96 A to 160 A — so it's sized for resistive and general-purpose loads, not motor inrush. The 32 A rating covers a 7.4 kW single-phase load at 230 V or a 22 kW three-phase load at 400 V. Breaking capacity of 4.5 kA is standard for final sub-circuits in residential and light commercial panels; for higher fault levels upstream, step to the 5SY series. The 76 mm depth leaves space behind for wiring — terminal accepts solid or stranded up to 25 mm² (2.5–3 N·m torque).
Deployment context
Snaps onto DIN rail inside standard distribution boards — panel integration is straightforward. The IP20 rating with connected conductors means it's for dry indoor enclosures, not washdown areas.
