What the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 5SL3225-7CC is a 2-pole SENTRON miniature circuit breaker rated 25 A with a C tripping characteristic, meaning it trips at 5–10× rated current — the standard choice for general-purpose branch circuits feeding motor starters, lighting panels, and small transformer loads where moderate inrush is expected. The 4.5 kA breaking capacity (per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2) tells you this breaker safely interrupts a fault up to that level without welding its contacts or cascading upstream; in a residential or light commercial panel with a typical 4.5 kA prospective fault current, it's a direct fit. Rated 400 V AC, it handles single-phase line-to-neutral or line-to-line circuits in standard 230/400 V distribution. The 36 mm width (2 width units) snaps onto a standard DIN rail. Wire range accepts 0.75 to 35 mm² solid or stranded. Terminal torque spec is 2.5–3 N·m.
Panel integration notes
Mounts in any position on a 35 mm DIN rail. The 70 mm installation depth leaves clearance; overall depth is 76 mm. IP20 with connected conductors. Ambient range -25 to +45 °C; storage range -40 to +75 °C. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction matters if the breaker sits in a cleanroom, food-processing area, or any environment where outgassing from a fault could contaminate sensitive equipment or optics. The sealable design allows the installer to lock the toggle in the off position with a padlock for LOTO compliance.
