What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL4103-7RC is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker with a C tripping characteristic, rated 3 A at 240/415 V AC and breaking 10 kA per EN 60898. The C-curve means it trips between 5 and 10 times rated current — sized for moderate inrush loads like small motors or lighting banks where you need short-circuit protection without nuisance tripping on startup. The 10 kA interrupting rating at 415 V is enough for most residential and light commercial panelboards; if your fault current runs higher, you'll need an upstream current-limiting device.
Where it fits
Snaps onto standard DIN rail — one modular width (18 mm), 76 mm deep, 90 mm tall. Mounting position is unrestricted, so you can orient it any way the enclosure layout demands. IP20 with connected conductors means it's protected against finger contact but not washdown; keep it inside a sealed panel in dusty or wet environments. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction matters if the panel serves a sensitive area like a control room or food line where off-gassing from a fault could contaminate product or corrode contacts.
Lifecycle and sourcing
This is an active-production part — no phase-out or end-of-life notice. It is sourced to order against an RFQ through independent distribution; availability and pricing are confirmed at quote time.
