2-pole D-curve MCB for motor and inrush loads
The Siemens 5SL4206-8 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON family, rated 6 A at 400 V AC with a D tripping characteristic and 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2. The D-curve (10–20× In) is the key spec here — it avoids nuisance tripping on motor starts, transformer inrush, or capacitive loads where a B- or C-curve would drop out. That makes it a fit for motor branch circuits, small drives, and industrial control panels where the load draws a heavy startup current. At 30 °C ambient the breaker holds a full 6 A; at 40 °C it derates to 5.68 A, and at 55 °C to 5.17 A.
Snap-on DIN rail mounting, any position accepted.
That dual rating means the same part satisfies residential distribution board specs and light industrial panel SCCR requirements. Energy limitation class 3 keeps the let-through energy low enough for most downstream equipment to survive a fault without cascading damage. Not designed for frequent switching duty like a contactor or motor starter; use it for overcurrent protection, not as a load-break switch.
