The Siemens 5SL4213-8 is a SENTRON 5SL4 miniature circuit breaker — 2-pole, D-curve, 13 A, breaking 10 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2 at 400 V AC. Rated voltage is 400 V AC, max multi-phase 440 V AC.
The 13 A D-curve is sized for a load that draws around 10–12 A steady but sees a short inrush — think a small compressor, a pump motor, or a bank of switching power supplies. Energy limiting class 3 tells you it restricts let-through energy, which helps with downstream component coordination. Terminals accept 0.75–25 mm² solid or stranded, tightened to 2.5–3 N·m. That covers most panel wiring up to 4 mm² comfortably, and the 25 mm² max lets you land a larger feeder if needed. The housing is 36 mm wide (2 width units,), 90 mm tall, 76 mm deep — standard DIN-rail footprint, no surprises. IP20 with conductors connected is normal for a panel-mounted MCB; it's not for wet locations.
Deployment context
Rated for ambient -25 to +55 °C and up to 95% humidity — fine for a ventilated electrical room or a weatherproof outdoor enclosure as long as it's IP-rated at the cabinet level. The sealable feature means you can lock the toggle to prevent unauthorized reset.
