The Z curve is designed for semiconductor and sensitive electronic loads where the inrush is minimal but short-circuit protection must be fast — it trips between 2.5 and 5 times rated current, so it clears faults before silicon devices see damaging let-through energy. Breaking capacity is 10 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, which means it safely interrupts faults up to that level on a 415 V AC supply (440 V AC max multi-phase).
Rated 16 A at 50 °C ambient, but the continuous current is temperature-dependent: 17.4 A at 30 °C, 16.7 A at 40 °C, 15.6 A at 55 °C, and 15.2 A at 60 °C. If the panel ambient runs warm, size the upstream conductor and load accordingly — the 16 A nameplate is only valid at 50 °C. Mounting position is unrestricted, and the enclosure is sealable for tamper-evident applications.
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, with touch protection on the terminals. The product designation per EN 61346-2 and IEC 81346-2 is F (protective device). No neutral conductor switching — this is a 2-pole breaker for line and switched phase only.
