What this MCB does in the panel
The Siemens 5SL4216-7CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker rated 16 A at 400 V AC with a 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898. Two-pole switching isolates both phase conductors in a single-width 2-module footprint (36 mm wide).
For a 16 A circuit feeding lighting or receptacle loads in a residential or light-commercial panel, that is the standard headroom. The C-curve means the magnetic trip activates at 80–160 A (5–10× In), which avoids tripping on the inrush of a few fluorescent fixtures or a small motor. Temperature range covers -40 to 75 °C, so the breaker can live in an unheated enclosure or a hot switchroom. The 50 Hz rating is the standard mains frequency; the 440 V maximum for multi-phase operation confirms it can be used on 400 V three-phase systems where line-to-line voltage is 400 V.
Snap-on DIN rail mount, any orientation. Two modular width units (36 mm) — matches the standard 18 mm per pole spacing. Touch protection is built in; sealable option is available for tamper-proofing in metered or public-access panels.
