What the ratings mean for fit
The 5SL4225-7 is a 2-pole C-curve miniature circuit breaker rated 25 A at 400 V AC. The C-curve (5–10× In magnetic trip) handles moderate inrush from small motors, pumps, and lighting banks without nuisance tripping, while still clearing faults fast. The 10 kA breaking capacity (verified to both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2) means it can safely interrupt a short-circuit fault up to 10 kA at 400 V — adequate for most residential and light-commercial distribution boards where the prospective fault current is below that threshold. At 36 mm wide (2 modular width units), this breaker occupies two standard 18 mm DIN-rail slots. The 76 mm depth and 70 mm installation depth mean it clears most shallow enclosures — check your gland-plate depth if retrofitting into a tight panel. Mounting position is unrestricted, so vertical or horizontal rail orientation is fine.
Panel integration notes
Snap-on DIN rail mounting. The housing is halogen-free and silicon-free — relevant for clean-room or high-sulfur environments where outgassing matters. IP20 with connected conductors (fingertip-safe only when wired). Sealable with a lockable cover if tamper-proofing is required. The 2.3 W power loss per pole at rated current should be factored into enclosure thermal calculations if multiple breakers are ganged.
Standards and approvals
Rated for overvoltage category III (distribution-level surge withstand) and pollution degree 2 (non-conductive contamination). Mechanical service life is 10 000 operating cycles typical. Supplementary devices (auxiliary switches, shunt trips, alarm contacts) can be installed on the right side — the product extension slot is available.
