The Siemens 5SL4308-8 is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON 5SL4 series, rated at 8 A with a D tripping characteristic. It breaks fault currents up to 10 kA per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, which means it can safely interrupt high-energy short circuits in residential and infrastructure distribution boards without cascading upstream.
D-curve tripping means the breaker holds through inrush currents up to 10–14× rated current — sized for motor-starting loads on pumps, compressors, or conveyor drives where a B- or C-curve would nuisance-trip on the inductive kick. At 8 A rated current, it protects a 3-phase motor circuit drawing roughly 4 kW on a 400 V supply. Three width units at 54 mm wide snap onto standard DIN rail. Depth of 76 mm and installation depth of 70 mm mean it fits flush in a 100 mm deep enclosure with room for gland plates and wiring. Terminal capacity accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 25 mm², covering most branch-circuit wiring sizes.
