What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL4310-7 is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker with a C-curve trip characteristic, rated 10 A at 400 V AC. The C-curve means it trips between 5 and 10 times rated current — standard for mixed resistive and moderate inductive loads like lighting, small motor circuits, and general-purpose branch protection in residential and infrastructure panels. The 10 kA breaking capacity, certified to both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 10 kA without welding or exploding. That's the figure that governs your SCCR coordination downstream.
Panel integration and mounting
Occupies 3 modular width units (54 mm) on a DIN rail. Depth is 76 mm (70 mm installation depth). Mount in any position — no derating needed for orientation. IP20 with connected conductors, so it's fine inside a closed panel but not for wet or dust-exposed locations. Sealable cover is standard; halogen-free and silicon-free construction matters if the panel is in a clean-room or food-processing environment where outgassing is a concern.
