32 A D-curve MCB for motor and transformer branch protection
The Siemens 5SL4332-8CC is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 32 A with a D tripping characteristic, designed for 400 V AC systems and a 10 kA breaking capacity per IEC 60898. At 32 A it covers a 15 kW motor at 400 V three-phase (roughly 29 A FLA) with headroom for the starting surge.
Panel integration and DIN-rail fit
Three-pole format occupies 3 × 18 mm = 54 mm of rail width. Box terminals accept 1–25 mm² conductor; torque to 2.5 Nm. The D-curve means no nuisance tripping on transformer inrush, but check the cable length for voltage drop at 32 A — 10 mm² minimum for runs over 30 m in 40 °C ambient.
