What it is and what it protects
The Siemens 5SL4405-7RC is a SENTRON 5SL4 series miniature circuit breaker — 4-pole, C-curve, rated 0.5 A at 415 V AC. The 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level on a residential or light-commercial distribution board. C-curve trips between 5 and 10 times rated current, so it's sized for moderate inrush loads like small lighting circuits or control transformers — not motor starting, where a D-curve would be needed.
Mounting and wiring
Snaps onto standard DIN rail. Width is 18 mm (one width unit), height 90 mm, depth 76 mm — fits a standard 4-pole slot in a distribution board. Terminals accept solid or stranded copper from 0.75 to 25 mm²; tighten to 2.5–3 N·m. Mounting position any, so it works horizontally in a shallow enclosure. IP20 with connected conductors — keep it inside a panel, not in a washdown zone.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Current production — no end-of-life notice on this code. The SENTRON 5SL series is an active Siemens catalog line, so factory supply is stable. Sourced and quoted to order; availability and current pricing confirmed at quote time.
