What it is and what it does
The Siemens 5SL4415-7CC is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a C-trip curve, rated 1.6 A at 400 V AC. The C-curve (trips between 5× and 10× rated current) suits it for mixed resistive and moderate inductive loads — lighting banks, contactor coils, small control transformers — where the inrush won't nuisance-trip a B-curve but doesn't need the D-curve's high surge tolerance for motor starts.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
RoHS compliance is confirmed effective 01 June 2013, and REACH candidate-list disclosure is available on request. The product class is B (return restricted) — Siemens requires direct dealer coordination for returns or warranty claims, so route any RMA through your Siemens partner or authorized distributor.
Panel integration and wiring
Four-pole DIN-rail mount, 1 module-width per pole (4 MW total). The C-curve means the thermal-magnetic trip element handles the 1.6 A continuous load. Spring-cage terminals accept 0.75–25 mm² conductors. Torque to 2.5 Nm per the terminal marking. In a vibrating environment like a crusher panel or mill MCC, use ferruled stranded wire and check tightness at the first scheduled PM — spring-cage holds better than screw terminals under vibration, but the busbar connection points still need an annual re-torque.
What the ratings mean for the buyer
The 400 V rating is the phase-to-phase voltage for a 4-pole breaker in a three-phase system with neutral. The 10 kA breaking capacity at 400 V is the standard for residential and light commercial distribution boards.
