What this MCB does and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL4502-6 is a 1P+N miniature circuit breaker with a B tripping characteristic, rated 2 A at 230 V AC and 10 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2. The 1P+N design switches the neutral conductor, so it fits single-phase subcircuits where both line and neutral need isolation. At 2 MW units wide (36 mm), it occupies the same slot as two standard single-pole MCBs.
The B characteristic (3–5× In) is the standard for lighting, socket-outlet, and general-purpose circuits; it avoids nuisance tripping on small motor or capacitor inrush. Derating is real: at 30 °C the rating holds at 2 A, but at 40 °C it drops to 1.92 A, at 45 °C to 1.88 A, and at 55 °C to 1.79 A. The mechanical service life of 10 000 switching cycles is typical for a distribution MCB — not a switching device for frequent load cycling.
Mounting and environment
Sealable, halogen-free, and silicon-free — relevant for clean-room or low-outgassing environments.
