What this MCB does and where it fits
The Siemens 5SL4508-7 is a 1P+N miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON series, rated 8 A at 230 V AC with a C tripping characteristic and a 10 kA breaking capacity per IEC/EN 60898 (also 10 kA per IEC 60947-2). The 1P+N design switches the phase and provides neutral disconnect, fitting into a 2-module-width (36 mm) DIN-rail slot.
Thermal derating — the real-world current limit
At 40 °C the continuous current drops to 7.39 A, at 45 °C to 7.04 A, and at 55 °C to 6.37 A.
The terminals are IP20 with conductors connected — standard for enclosed distribution boards. Sealable to prevent tamper, halogen-free and silicon-free construction.
