16 A C-curve MCB for residential and light commercial distribution boards
The Siemens 5SL4516-7 is a 1P+N miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON series, rated 16 A with a C tripping characteristic at 230 V AC. It breaks fault currents up to 10 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2 — the same rating under both standards, so you don't have to derate when crossing between residential and industrial coordination studies. The 1P+N design switches the line and switches the neutral, which matters for single-phase final circuits where you want the neutral isolated on a fault.
Panel fit and footprint
At 36 mm wide (2 modular width units), this MCB occupies two standard 18 mm DIN-rail slots. Depth is 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm — the same footprint as the wider SENTRON 3P units, so busbar and distribution-block layouts transfer directly. Mounting position is any orientation, which simplifies layout in tight enclosures where vertical or horizontal rail placement is forced by gland-plate entry.
