Siemens 5SL4563-7 SENTRON MCB — 63 A, C-Curve, 1P+N
The Siemens 5SL4563-7 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a 1P+N pole configuration, rated 63 A at 230 V AC. The C-curve trip characteristic means it holds 5–10× rated current for short overloads and trips magnetically above that — standard for mixed resistive-inductive loads like lighting circuits, small motor branch circuits, and general-purpose distribution in residential and light commercial panels. Breaking capacity is 10 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, so it safely clears a fault up to that prospective short-circuit current without welding the contacts or cascading failure upstream. At 40 °C ambient the continuous rating derates to 59.67 A; at 55 °C it drops to 54.29 A — factor that into the branch-circuit load calculation if the panel runs warm. The neutral pole switches with the line (1P+N, not 2P), so the neutral is opened and closed together with the phase. That matters for isolation — you get full disconnection on both conductors, not just the phase. Touch protection is built in, and the housing is halogen-free and silicon-free, which avoids corrosion risk in sealed enclosures.
Panel Fit and Integration
Occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm total) on a DIN rail. Depth is 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm — verify clearance to the enclosure door or gland plate. Mounting position is unrestricted, so it can be installed horizontally or vertically without derating the current. IP20 with connected conductors — standard for enclosed distribution boards; not rated for washdown environments. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 suit it for fixed-installation mains supply panels. Mechanical service life is 10 000 switching cycles typical — adequate for branch-circuit protection where the breaker is operated infrequently as a disconnect. For frequent switching as a load-break device, consider a contactor instead.
