The Siemens 5SL4563-8 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker, 1-pole plus switched neutral, with a D tripping characteristic and a 63 A rating at 230 V AC. It breaks 10 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, so it coordinates with standard residential and light-commercial panelboards without needing an upstream current-limiting fuse for fault levels up to that threshold. The D-curve (10–20× In) is sized for loads with high inrush — motorized equipment, transformers, discharge lighting — where a B or C curve would nuisance-trip on startup. At 63 A it handles a decent submain or a large fixed load. It occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm) on DIN rail, depth 76 mm, so it fits the same footprint as any standard 1P+N MCB. The neutral pole is switched and isolated — no separate neutral bar needed downstream.
Temperature derating and mounting
Rated 63 A at 30 °C ambient; at 40 °C it derates to 59.67 A, at 45 °C to 57.96 A, and at 55 °C to 54.29 A. If the panel runs warm — say a packed enclosure with other breakers — size the load side for the derated figure, not the 30 °C label. Mounting position is any, so it works in vertical or horizontal DIN-rail layouts without further derating. Sealable and touch-protected per the product feature, which matters for installations requiring a lockable cover or finger-safe terminals. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — no corrosive off-gassing in enclosed gear.
