Product details

The Siemens SENTRON 5SL4601-7 is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker (3P+N) with a C tripping characteristic, rated 1 A at 400 V AC. It's built for residential and infrastructure panels — think distribution boards in apartment blocks, small commercial, or light industrial feeder circuits. That's the standard you'd expect for a panelboard MCB in a 400 V supply. For a 1 A rating, that's a magnetic trip between 5 A and 10 A.

Mounting position is any — no restrictions on orientation inside the enclosure. The neutral pole is switched (3P+N), so it breaks the neutral along with the phases. That's a requirement in some regional wiring rules and for isolating the entire circuit. Temperature derating is published: at 30 °C the rating is 1 A; at 40 °C it drops to 0.95 A; at 45 °C it's 0.92 A; at 55 °C it's 0.86 A. If your panel runs hot, factor that in — don't load the breaker to its full 1 A nameplate if ambient is above 30 °C.

Frequently asked questions

Will 5SL4601-7 drop into a panel that was specified around 5SL3640-7MB without rewiring?

Both are 4-pole SENTRON MCBs with the same 4-module width (72 mm) and DIN-rail mounting, so physical fit is the same. Verify your required breaking capacity and curve — the 5SL4601-7 is C-curve at 1 A; the 5SL3640-7MB is a different rating and curve.
