It is designed for 220 V DC circuits and offers a 10 kA breaking capacity. This is a current-production part, still actively manufactured. The C-curve means it trips between 5 and 10 times rated current (2.5 to 5 A for this 0.5 A unit), suited for protecting circuits with moderate inrush, like lighting or small control transformers. The 10 kA DC breaking capacity gives it the interrupting capability for most low-voltage DC distribution panels.
DC ratings and deployment
Rated for 220 V DC maximum, this breaker is intended for DC branch circuit protection in residential or infrastructure applications. Touch protection is built in on the line side terminals.
For a panel originally specified with a different SENTRON 1-pole C-curve MCB (like the 5SL6120-7, which is an AC-rated unit with 72 V DC max), the 5SL5105-7RC will not drop in as a functional substitute for AC circuits — the DC-only rating limits its use. Verify the circuit voltage type before cross-referencing.
