What the ratings mean for fit
The 5SL5150-7RC: The C-curve trips between 5 and 10 times rated current, so it handles moderate inrush from small motors or transformers without nuisance tripping, but clears a hard short fast. At 50 A and 220 V DC, this breaker covers a substantial DC load — think battery banks, DC bus distribution, or large solenoid banks. The 10 kA interrupting rating means it can safely clear a fault current up to that level at the rated voltage; verify the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point stays below that. Single-pole design (1 MW width unit) and 18 mm width mean it snaps into a standard DIN-rail panel and occupies one module slot. Depth is 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm — check your enclosure depth if you're retrofitting into a shallow gland plate. Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C, so it's fine for unheated electrical rooms, outdoor enclosures, or cold-chain infrastructure. The IP20 rating (with connected conductors) is standard for enclosed panel mounting; no washdown rating here.
