The Siemens SENTRON 5SL5203-7CC is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a C tripping characteristic, rated at 3 A for 250 V DC circuits and a 10 kA breaking capacity. It is designed for DC applications in residential and infrastructure installations, where overcurrent and short-circuit protection is needed on a 2-wire DC supply.
DC rating and what it means for fit
The C-curve (trips at 5–10× rated current) handles moderate inrush, typical for resistive and some capacitive DC loads. The 3 A rating means it protects a 3 A DC branch; if your BOM calls for a higher current, the 5SL6550-7BB carries a 50 A rating in the same 2-pole C-curve family, but at 6 kA DC breaking capacity — lower fault interruption capability. The 2-pole design switches both conductors in a DC circuit, which is necessary for full isolation and fault clearing. Single-pole DC breakers can leave a floating live conductor; this avoids that.
Width is 36 mm (2 modular units), depth 76 mm, height 90 mm, with an installation depth of 70 mm.
Installation and compliance notes
The breaker is sealable, allowing panel builders to lock the toggle position after commissioning.
