DC-rated miniature circuit breaker for 250 VDC circuits
The Siemens 5SL5220-6CC is a 2-pole DC miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON 5SL family, rated 250 V DC with a B tripping characteristic at 20 A and a 10 kA breaking capacity. The DC voltage rating of 72 V per pole means the two poles are series-connected internally to achieve the 250 V DC system voltage — this is not a 2-pole AC breaker pressed into DC service, but a purpose-designed DC unit.
At 36 mm wide (2 modular width units) and 76 mm deep, this breaker occupies two standard 18 mm DIN-rail slots. IP20 with connected conductors is the norm for a DIN-rail enclosure; keep the panel door closed or use a distribution board cover.
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, so it's safe for use in clean-room adjacent panels or areas where outgassing from a fault could contaminate optics or contacts. The sealable design lets you lock the toggle in the off position with a padlock — required for lockout/tagout on DC circuits where no upstream isolator exists.
