DC-rated 4-pole MCB for infrastructure panels
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL5416-7RC is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker with C-curve tripping characteristic, rated 16 A at 30 °C and designed for DC circuits up to 880 V. Its 4-pole design (4P) means it switches all four poles simultaneously, suited for DC systems where full isolation is required. The C-curve (5–10× In instantaneous trip) handles moderate inrush loads like small DC drives or capacitor banks without nuisance tripping. Current rating is temperature-dependent: 16 A at 30 °C, derating to 15 A at 40 °C, 14.6 A at 45 °C, 14.2 A at 50 °C, 13.6 A at 55 °C, and 13 A at 60 °C. This matters when the breaker is in a warm enclosure — size for the actual ambient, not the 30 °C sticker value. Mounts on standard DIN rail, occupies 4 modular width units (72 mm wide), with 70 mm installation depth behind the panel. Any mounting position is allowed. IP20 with connected conductors — fine for enclosed distribution boards, not for wet locations.

Rated DC voltage maximum is 880 V, with a description listing DC max 1000 V and 10 kA breaking capacity. This is a DC-specific MCB — not a general-purpose AC/DC unit. Overvoltage category II, pollution degree 2. Suitable for residential building and infrastructure DC sub-distribution. Power loss is 2.1 W per pole at rated current in hot operating state.
Panel fit and accessories
Supplementary devices (auxiliary switches, shunt trips, alarm contacts) can be installed on the right side — the product extension feature is supported. Sealable design allows locking in the ON or OFF position for lockout/tagout. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, suitable for clean-room or sensitive environments.
