Product details

The Siemens 5SL6102-7MB is a 1-pole SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a C tripping characteristic, rated 2 A and a 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898. It is not intended for high-inrush motor starting — that calls for a D-curve.

Breaking capacity of 6 kA at 230/400 V AC per EN 60898 is the standard for most residential and light commercial panelboards in Europe and markets adopting IEC 60898. For installations where the prospective short-circuit current exceeds 6 kA, a higher-rated breaker (10 kA, e.g. the 5SL4363-7) is required. Rated operational voltage is 250 V AC single-phase and 440 V AC multi-phase, covering single-pole protection in 230/400 V TN and TT systems. The frequency range is 50/60 Hz, which covers standard mains supplies globally.

This MCB is designed for installation in residential buildings and infrastructure.

Installation notes

The 18 mm width matches a single modular unit, so it aligns with standard busbar comb systems and terminal blocks on the same DIN rail. The breaker is sealable, halogen-free, and silicon-free — relevant for installations requiring low smoke emission (halogen-free) or where silicone outgassing could contaminate sensitive contacts or optics. This allows remote status indication or remote tripping without replacing the breaker.

Frequently asked questions

Will 5SL6102-7MB drop into a panel specified around 5SL4363-7?

No — the 5SL4363-7 is a 3-pole breaker occupying 54 mm (3 MWU), while the 5SL6102-7MB is a 1-pole breaker occupying 18 mm (1 MWU). The panel's DIN rail and busbar comb would need reconfiguration to accept the single-pole unit. They share the same 76 mm depth and 90 mm height, so enclosure depth is not an issue, but the width and pole count differ.
