Miniature circuit breaker for residential and infrastructure panels
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6132-7BB is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker with C-curve tripping characteristic, rated 32 A at 30 °C and 400 V AC. Its 6 kA breaking capacity per IEC 60898 (also 6 kA per IEC 60947-2) covers most residential and light commercial fault levels. The C-curve (5–10× In) handles moderate inrush from motorized loads like pumps or compressors without nuisance tripping.
Thermal derating and panel integration
Rated 32 A at 30 °C, the 5SL6132-7BB derates to 29.56 A at 40 °C and 25.48 A at 55 °C — a 20% drop at the upper ambient. If the panel runs hot (enclosed DIN rail in a non-ventilated enclosure), size the upstream protection for the derated value, not the 30 °C sticker. The 18 mm width (1 modular unit) snaps onto standard DIN rail; depth is 76 mm with 70 mm installation depth. Mounting position is any, which simplifies tight layouts.
