The Siemens 5SL6132-7CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) — a 1-pole unit with C-curve trip characteristic rated 32 A, breaking 6 kA per EN 60898 at 230/400 V AC. This is the standard residential and light-commercial branch-circuit protector for 32 A final subcircuits: lighting, socket outlets, small appliances. The C-curve means it trips between 5× and 10× In (160–320 A magnetic instant), so it tolerates the inrush of motor-driven loads like fridges or pumps without nuisance tripping, while still clearing a hard short.
Panel fit and ratings
Single modular width unit (18 mm) on DIN rail, 76 mm deep, 90 mm tall. Mounts in any position. IP20 with conductors connected — standard for enclosed distribution boards. Overvoltage category III and pollution degree 2 suit fixed-installation mains panels. Rated 400 V AC max multi-phase, 250 V AC single-phase, 50/60 Hz. DC rated max 72 V — usable on DC control circuits up to that voltage, but the 6 kA breaking capacity is the AC figure; DC derating applies per manufacturer data. Power loss 4.6 W per pole at rated current in hot state — relevant for thermal derating when ganging multiple breakers in a small enclosure.
Compliance and approvals
Rated per EN 60898 (6 kA). Halogen-free and silicon-free construction. Vibration resistance 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6. Sealable — can be locked in OFF position for lockout/tagout. Accepts supplementary devices (auxiliary switches, shunt trips, under-voltage releases).
