The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6220-7RC is a 20 A, 2-pole miniature circuit breaker with a C tripping characteristic, rated to break 7.5 kA under EN 60898 at 415 V AC.
The 20 A C-curve is the workhorse for general-purpose branch circuits feeding resistive and moderate inductive loads — lighting, socket outlets, small appliances — where inrush from switching supplies or motor starts is expected but not extreme. If your service entrance can deliver more prospective short-circuit current, you need a higher-rated device upstream. Multi-phase operation up to 440 V AC, single-phase up to 250 V AC, DC rating 72 V maximum. 2-pole switches both line conductors.
Product extension port accepts shunt trips, alarm switches, auxiliary contacts. IP20 with connected conductors — finger-safe from the front, but the busbar and wiring terminals are inside a distribution board or enclosure. Install in a cabinet with at least IP2X or better to maintain the overall assembly rating. Depth of 76 mm (70 mm installation depth) means it clears most standard enclosure backplates without interference.
