Siemens 5SL6308-7 — SENTRON 3-pole MCB, 8 A C-curve
3-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON 5SL6 family, rated 8 A with a C tripping characteristic. Breaks fault currents up to 6 kA at 400 V AC three-phase. C-curve means the magnetic trip activates at 5 to 10 times rated current, so it handles moderate inrush from small motors, transformers, and lighting ballasts without nuisance tripping. The 8 A rating fits 1.5 mm² to 2.5 mm² copper circuits typical for socket outlets and lighting sub-circuits.
Dimensions and wiring
Occupies 3 width units (54 mm) on a standard DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and height of 90 mm. Installation depth is 70 mm once snapped on. Accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 mm² up to 25 mm² — enough for the load-side feed and a larger upstream tail. Screw terminals torque to 2.5 to 3 N·m. Mountable in any position. Touch protection is built in. IP20 with conductors connected — standard for enclosed distribution boards. Sealable, halogen-free, silicon-free construction.
Standards and approvals
Rated breaking capacity of 6 kA per both EN 60898 (household and similar) and IEC 60947-2 (industrial) — the same 6 kA figure applies under either standard, so it qualifies for residential boards and light industrial sub-distribution alike. Energy limiting class 3. Overvoltage category III. Ambient temperature range -25 to +45 °C, with periodic exposure to +55 °C at 95% humidity.
