The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6308-7BB is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker with C-curve tripping characteristic, rated 8 A at 400 V AC. It breaks 6 kA under both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, which covers residential and light commercial panelboard fault levels. The C-curve means it holds through motor inrush up to about 5–10× rated current — fine for general-purpose lighting and small motor branch circuits, not for high-inrush transformer loads where a D-curve would be needed.
Fit and panel integration
Occupies 3 modular width units (54 mm) on a DIN rail. Depth is 76 mm; installation depth behind the panel is 70 mm. The IP20 rating applies with conductors connected — fine inside a closed enclosure, not for wet locations. Mounting position is unrestricted, so it can go sideways or upside-down in a tight gland plate layout without derating. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction matters for clean-room or semiconductor fab installs where outgassing can contaminate optics or wafers. Pollution degree 2 and overvoltage category III are standard for fixed-installation distribution boards.
