What it is and what it does
The Siemens 5SL6313-8CC is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a D tripping characteristic, rated 13 A at 400 V and a 6 kA breaking capacity. The D-curve means it tolerates high inrush currents — typically found with motor, transformer, or lighting ballast loads — without nuisance tripping, while still clearing short-circuit faults up to 6 kA. This is the part you spec into a sub-distribution board feeding inductive or motor circuits where a B or C curve would trip on startup.
Panel integration notes
Snap-on DIN rail mounting, 3-pole width (roughly 54 mm at 18 mm per pole). Rated for 400 V line-to-line, so it fits standard 3-phase 400 VAC panels. The D-curve's magnetic trip threshold (10–20× In) is the key spec to check against your load's inrush profile — if you're protecting a motor starting DOL, this is the right curve; for general lighting or resistive loads, a B or C curve would be a better fit.
