Siemens SENTRON 5SL6320-8CC — 3-Pole D-Curve MCB, 20 A, 6 kA
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6320-8CC is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker with a D tripping characteristic, rated 20 A at 400 V AC. It breaks faults up to 6 kA per EN 60898, which covers most residential and light commercial panelboard duties. The D-curve (10–20× In) is built for loads with high inrush — motor starters, small transformers, discharge lighting — where a B or C curve would nuisance-trip on startup.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
Full rated current of 20 A holds at 30 °C ambient. At 40 °C it derates to 18.86 A, at 50 °C to 17.65 A, and at 55 °C to 17.01 A. The operating range spans -40 °C to 75 °C, so it handles unheated enclosures in cold climates and warm panel interiors. Pollution degree 2 and overvoltage category III keep it suitable for fixed-installation distribution boards.
Mounting and panel fit
Snaps onto standard DIN rail, occupies 3 modular width units (54 mm total width). Installation depth is 70 mm behind the panel face; the overall depth including the front arc is 76 mm. Mounting position is unrestricted — vertical, horizontal, or inverted — which simplifies layout in tight sub-distribution boards. Sealable housing and touch protection (IP20 with connected conductors) are standard.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The 5SL6320-8CC is a current-production part within the Siemens SENTRON portfolio. It is sourced and quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution.
