Siemens 5SL6363-8CC SENTRON MCB — 63 A, D-Curve, 3-Pole
The Siemens 5SL6363-8CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker rated 63 A with a D tripping characteristic, built for 3-pole AC circuits at 400 V. At 63 A, it handles a substantial branch circuit; the 6 kA breaking capacity (per EN 60898) covers most commercial and light industrial fault levels. Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +75 °C, with periodic humidity up to 55 °C at 95% — fine for outdoor-rated cabinets or unconditioned plant floors.
The D-curve (10–20× In magnetic trip) is the key selection criterion. Standard C-curve breakers trip at 5–10× In and would nuisance-open on a motor start or a large capacitor bank. This 5SL6363-8CC is sized for loads with high inrush but limited fault current — the 6 kA at 400 V AC (per EN 60898) means it safely interrupts faults up to that level without cascading upstream. If your available fault current exceeds 6 kA, you need a higher-rated breaker upstream or a current-limiting device. Rated operational voltage is 400 V AC (3-phase), with a maximum multi-phase voltage of 440 V AC. The 63 A rating is continuous — no derating needed for standard panel ambient up to 40 °C, though the -40 °C to +75 °C range covers extreme environments.
Panel Integration
Three modular-width units (54 mm total) on DIN rail. Sealable — useful for metering or tenant sub-panels where unauthorized switching is a concern. Mounting position any orientation, so horizontal busbars or vertical drops both work. Vibration resistance tested to 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz per IEC 60068-2-6 — suitable for installation near rotating machinery or on mobile equipment. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction avoids corrosive off-gassing in sealed enclosures.
