The Siemens 5SL6410-8CC is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker from the Basic Devices family, rated 10 A with a D tripping characteristic.
D-curve and breaking capacity
The D-characteristic means the magnetic trip operates at 10–20 times rated current (In), so this 10 A breaker holds through the inrush of small motors, transformers, or discharge lamps without tripping. The 6 kA breaking capacity at 400 V is the standard domestic/commercial level per EN 60898 — adequate for most final subcircuits in a distribution board, but check the prospective short-circuit current at the point of installation if feeding a long run from a high-capacity transformer.
Panel integration
Snap-on mounting to standard 35 mm DIN rail. The 4-pole width (4 modules at 18 mm each) fits a standard distribution board; plan for 72 mm of rail space plus clearance for outgoing conductors. Spring-cage terminals accept 0.75–25 mm² copper — strip to 12 mm and use a ferrule for stranded wire to avoid whiskers under the clamp.
