SENTRON 5SL6504-7CC — 4 A C-curve MCB, 1P+N, 6 kA
The Siemens 5SL6504-7CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker rated 4 A at 230 V AC with a C-curve trip characteristic and a 6 kA breaking capacity certified to EN 60898. It switches both line and neutral (1P+N) in a 2-module-width (36 mm) housing, with neutral conductor switching built in — no separate isolator needed for the neutral pole. The C-curve means the magnetic trip fires at 5 to 10 times rated current (20–40 A for this 4 A unit), making it the standard choice for mixed resistive and moderate inductive loads in residential and light commercial distribution boards — lighting, general-purpose sockets, small appliances. It is not intended for motor starting duty (where a D-curve or motor-protective breaker would be specified). Suited for fixed-installation sub-distribution where prospective short-circuit current stays under 6 kA.
IP20 with connected conductors. Terminal touch protection is fitted as standard. Energy limitation class 3 means the let-through energy (I²t) is low enough to protect downstream wiring and loads under fault conditions — a coordination consideration when selecting backup fuses or an upstream MCCB.
Vibration resistance tested to IEC 60068-2-6 at 50 m/s² over 25 to 150 Hz. These ratings cover unheated utility rooms, outdoor-adjacent enclosures, and transport vibration. The breaker carries no explicit UL/CSA listing in the evidence; compliance documentation should be verified against the specific project jurisdiction. The EN 60898 certification is the primary approval for IEC-market installations.
