What it is and what the ratings mean
The Siemens 5SL6506-7 is a SENTRON 5SL6-series miniature circuit breaker (MCB) — 1P+N, 6 A rated, C-curve trip characteristic, breaking 6 kA per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2 at 230 V AC. The C-curve (trips between 5× and 10× rated current) is the standard choice for general-purpose branch circuits feeding resistive and moderate inductive loads — lighting, receptacles, small appliances — in residential and light-commercial panels. The 6 kA breaking capacity means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level at the rated voltage, which covers the vast majority of domestic and infrastructure service-entrance applications.
Panel fit and integration
Snaps onto DIN rail (any mounting position), occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm wide). Depth is 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm — standard for the SENTRON 5SL6 family, so it aligns with the busbar and enclosure backplane without interference. The 1P+N design switches the line conductor and switches the neutral; the neutral pole is not protected but is switched with the line, which is common for single-phase final circuits in many markets. Sealable with a lead seal (provision on the toggle) for panel builders who need tamper evidence. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction matters if the breaker sits in a plenum or clean-room environment.
