What the ratings mean for fit
The 5SL6550-7CC: The C-curve trips between 5× and 10× rated current (250–500 A magnetic release), making it the standard choice for general-purpose loads with moderate inrush — think lighting banks, small transformers, and mixed resistive-inductive circuits in a final distribution board. The 6 kA breaking capacity at 230 V is sized for residential and light commercial sub-distribution where the prospective short-circuit current stays within that limit; for industrial panels with higher fault levels upstream, you would step to a 10 kA or 25 kA frame. The 1+N pole configuration switches the line conductor and provides neutral disconnection, which is required by some national wiring rules for single-phase final circuits.
