What this 4-pole MCB does on the line side
The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6605-7BB is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker (3P+N) with a C tripping characteristic, rated at 0.5 A at 400 V AC. Its 6 kA breaking capacity, certified to both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without cascading upstream — essential for selectivity in a distribution board feeding a 0.5 A branch circuit.
Mounting and integration into a panel
Snaps onto standard DIN rail. At 72 mm wide (4 width units) and 76 mm deep, it occupies the same footprint as other 5SL6-series 4-pole breakers — a direct drop-in for a panel originally kitted with a 5SL6606-7YA or 5SL6563-7BB, provided the ampacity and pole count match the circuit. Terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 25 mm²; tighten to 2.5–3 N·m. The neutral pole is switched (3P+N), so the breaker opens all live conductors on a fault — no separate neutral link required. Rated IP20 with conductors connected — suitable for enclosed distribution boards. Mount in any position.
Designed for residential and infrastructure applications. The part carries a 6 kA breaking capacity per EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2, overvoltage category 3, energy limiting class 3. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction. Sealable for tamper-proof installations. Touch protection is provided.
