What this breaker is and what it protects
It is rated for 400 V AC at 50/60 Hz, with a breaking capacity of 6 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2 — that figure governs its ability to safely interrupt a fault up to 6 kA without welding contacts or cascading failure upstream.
Panel fit and mechanical constraints
This 4-pole breaker occupies 4 modular width units (72 mm) on a DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and a height of 90 mm.
That means an existing panel layout using other 5SL breakers can take this unit without reworking the accessory rail.
Electrical ratings and coordination notes
Maximum operating voltage is 440 V AC for multi-phase operation; the breaker also carries a DC rating of 72 V maximum, so it can be used on a 48 V or 60 V DC bus, but not on a 110 V DC circuit. That is low enough to ignore for thermal derating in a standard 12-module enclosure, but worth checking if the breaker is packed tight in a high-ambient panel.
