The Siemens SENTRON 5SL6616-6 is a 4-pole (3P+N) miniature circuit breaker rated 16 A with a B tripping characteristic, designed for 400 V AC three-phase systems. It interrupts fault currents up to 6 kA per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2 — the standard household/commercial breaking capacity that matches most residential and light-infrastructure distribution boards.
B-curve trip — what it means on the line
The B characteristic trips between 3 and 5 times rated current (48–80 A magnetic trip), which makes it the right choice for resistive and general-purpose loads with low inrush — lighting circuits, socket outlets, control transformers. It avoids nuisance trips that a C-curve might tolerate but that a B-curve catches faster on short circuits.
The breaker occupies 4 modular width units (72 mm wide) on a standard DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and installation depth of 70 mm.
Environmental range and material compliance
Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C, halogen-free and silicon-free throughout, with pollution degree 2 and overvoltage category III. That makes it suitable for outdoor-rated enclosures in cold climates and for installations where outgassing from a fault must not corrode nearby contacts.
