What this K-curve 4-pole MCB does on the line
The Siemens Betagard 5SL7425-3RC is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker with a K tripping characteristic, rated 25 A at 415 V AC and 15 kA breaking capacity per both EN 60898 and IEC 60947-2. It holds 28 A at 30 °C and derates to 23.4 A at 60 °C, so if the panel's running hot, factor that in when sizing the branch circuit.
Panel fit and mounting details
The housing is IP20 with conductors connected, which is standard for a distribution board interior; it's not a washdown part.
Rated for -40 °C to 75 °C ambient, so it handles unheated enclosures in cold climates or hot summer days. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, which matters if the panel serves sensitive electronics or needs low-smoke, zero-halogen cabling zones. Overvoltage category III, so it's suitable for fixed-installation distribution boards, not just downstream equipment. Touch protection is built into the terminals.
The 15 kA breaking capacity at 415 V AC (per IEC 60947-2) and also 15 kA per EN 60898 gives solid SCCR headroom for most commercial and light industrial distribution boards. It's a 4-pole design with no neutral conductor switching — the neutral pole is switched, but the product component note says neutral conductor switching is not present, meaning it's a solid neutral or switched-neutral variant that doesn't break the neutral under fault.
