The Siemens SENTRON 5SM1311-6 is a 2-pole residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) rated 16 A at 40 °C, with a 30 mA trip threshold and Type A sensitivity. It sits on a DIN rail (REG) in a distribution board, occupying 2 modular width units. Type A detection covers sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual currents, which covers most modern electronics and single-phase rectified loads.
Temperature derating and real-world current
Above that, it derates linearly: 15.36 A at 50 °C, 14.72 A at 55 °C, 14.08 A at 60 °C, and 12.8 A at 70 °C.
Rated according to EN 60898 (0.5 kA) and IEC 61008-1 (0.5 kA). Overvoltage category III. The I²t let-through is 70,000 A²·s; surge current resistance is 1 kA. The test circuit supply voltage minimum is 100 V AC.
